The concept of a dark Wizard of Oz strikes me as weird to say the least...

Since Dakota isn't 18 yet as far as I know, they'd definitely need to change that wardrobe for legality reasons, hahaha...

leave the classics alone.

I always thought the original was pretty dark already.

I mean in this one movie you have the following:

child abduction by flying monkeys
assault by talking trees
one character is set on fire
that same character is torn in two
threats to drown a dog in a river
another character melts right in front of your eyes
one character is crushed by a house with nothing but her feet sticking out from underneath
oh and witchcraft, lots of witchcraft

Folks, the only thing missing was the blood and that's only because it was 1939. Still, not exactly childish fare.

Just went and looked at McFarlane's toys and they would have to totally remake the character of Dorothy -- not necessarily because of Dakota Fanning, but because the character of Dorothy is supposed to be aged 12-13ish. His Dorothy doll boasts a level of chest development that is CLEARLY not consistent with a 12-13 year old. At least not any that I know.

the actual age of dorothy in the 39 film is 15.

Don't know too many 15-year olds built like that doll either.
