Post Doctor Who Fans ? Reply with quote
Since I've started this forum, I've been putting up Hannah Montana episodes, one of my favourite shows. Another of my favourite shows is Doctor Who, not only the original but the last two newest seasons. The first season is going to be over next week and the second season is up to the sixth episode, I believe. The next season, often refered to as season 2 (though, if you count from the beginning in 1963, it would really be the 28th season) has not aired in the US yet. The first (27th season) season aired the year after it aired on the BBC. Hopefully, the next season will be picked up and aired on the scifi channel as the first season was. Since I know that I'm not the only Whovian around, I'm thinking about posting the new seasons of Who....if you guys want me to. I'll start with the last season starring Christopher Eccleston (sp?). The first episode is called Rose. In it, the good Doctor meets up with his latest companion/assistant, Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper. The episode will be up tomorrow night/early morning, as the only time I get where I can upload and do things for the 'net/my forum, is after 11 o'clock central time.

Yeah, I'm a huge Whovian. I liked David Tennant as the Doctor, though Tom Baker will always be the Who god. Chris was great as the Doctor, a lot better than Tennant....though I did like Tennant. Chris seemed liked he brought a much more interesting deepness to the character than Tennant. I loved Rose as a companion, but Elizabeth Sladen as Sarah jane will always be the best. Well, her and Wendy Padbury as Zoe. I loved David's season, though, just because of all the actors I recognised from other things. In episode 10 - Love & Monsters, the blonde guy from Hustle was the guy who meets the Doctor as a part of a Doctor "fan club." That guy's girlfriend was played by the girl who plays Moaning Myrtle in Harry Potter. In episode 7 - Idiot's Lantern, the man who ran the tv shop was Ron Cook, who starred in The Odyssey miniseries with Armand Asante. Giles, from Buffy, was the head Crilletaine (sp?) in episode 3 - School Reunion....which was the best episode of the year as it saw the return of Sarah Jane Smith, played by Elizabeth Sladen. I love Elizabeth Sladen.
As you can see, I'm a huge Who fan. I have Resurrection Of The Daleks, Rememberance Of The Daleks, Daleks Invasion Of Earth, Ghost Light, Five Doctors, City Of Death, Earthshock, Carnival Of Monsters, Ark In Space, Pyramids Of Mars, Spearhead From Space, The Green Death, The Visitation, and Lost In Time - a collection of all the episodes where there is 50% or more missing from them. I also have several Product Enterprise Radio Command Daleks - the silver and blue from Evil Of The Daleks, the black and silver from Rememberance, and the grey and black from Genesis Of The Daleks (my favourite Who ever) I don't have the last two seasons of Who on dvd, but I do have them as AVIs that I downloaded.

I've re-become a Dr.Who fan . I first saw Dr.Who when Tom Baker was the Dr. and really enjoyed it . Then I hadn't seen any episodes until BBCA started showing the newest series (season 1) with Chris ... then I caught season 2 with David on Sci-Fi channel . I have to say I'm going to miss Billie as Rose ... I really enjoyed watching her , but I'm looking forward to Sci-Fi possibly airing season 3 ( I thought I heard they were ... in Sept ... after it is done airing in the UK)

My favourite Doctor is Tom Baker, too. One of these days, I'm going to get around to asking my mom to knit me a Who scarf. There's a really cool website that tells all about the different scarves that Mr. Baker wore. It's doctorwhoscarf.com It's a really great site with pictures, patterns, and scarf history. Season 3 (season 29, if you continue the original numbering) is great. If you don't want to wait for it to air, you could always download the episodes from the internet. I use Limewire. But I have a Mac. You could use whatever filesharing program your computer can have. The episodes air on Saturdays over in england, so the episodes should be up for download sometime a few days after that.

I've thought of doing that (d'ling from the net) ... I've seen the episodes posted on several torrent sites and one or two in regular (non torrent) files

I use Limewire. The files are about 340 MB or so. The quality...so far that I've noticed, are near dvd quality. At least they look that way on my screen.
